    SPVA’s Veterans UK Helpline is changing its free phone telephone number. The new number is 0808 1914218 and was launched on 4 Feb 2014.   About the Helpline The Veterans UK Helpline deals with approx 16,000 phone calls and 1,900 emails per month from Veterans, their families or representatives in respect of a wide range of Veterans related issues. The helpline acts as the 1st point of contact into the SPVA, referring where appropriate to other partner organisations, statutory & voluntary bodies.

    An amputee motorcycle paramedic from the West Midlands donated 3 motorcycles to a London-based military charity on Saturday 25 April in Aldridge. John Brown from Walsall had to have his left leg amputated after a road accident whilst on duty shattered his pelvis in 2007.  The 53-year-old says: “I am not looking for a pat on the back here, I think I am very fortunate to have survived and have an incredible amount of admiration for those who incur such injuries by putting their lives on the line.     The Row2Recovery team have completed their Atlantic adventure by making it safe and sound to Antigua. DAY 49 - CAYLE ROYCE'S FINISH LINE BLOG After a frustrating last 24 hours or so we began today with slow conditions and not much visibility. It was quite squally, with little rain showers coming and going, but things cleared quite abruptly around 8am and suddenly we could see land.     Blesma Volunteer George and I drove down to Fareham from London to take part in Member Richard Hunt's Wheelchair Laser Tag Tournament, which was raising money for us through his upcoming challenge, The Great Paddle Round. The day began with introductions - I met Richard's local Conservative MP for Fareham, Mark Hoban and the Mayor of Fareham, Susan Bayford.  Also present were representatives from prosthetics company
