ADVANCE Study set to continue for another 10 years, with Blesma's support

The ADVANCE Study (ArmeD SerVices TrAuma RehabilitatioN OutComE Study), a unique twenty-year study into the health of military veterans, has secured crucial funding for the next ten years. ADVANCE investigates the long-term physical and psycho-social outcomes of battlefield casualties from the UK Armed Forces following deployment to Afghanistan between 2003 and 2014. Blesma Member becomes first veteran to receive 'Hero Arm'

On Wednesday 29th of January Blesma Member Darren Fuller became the first veteran to receive a ‘Hero arm’; the world's first clinically approved 3D-printed bionic arm. Designed by Open Bionics, the Hero Arm is a lightweight and affordable myoelectric prosthesis, with a wide range of grip styles. It’s functions range from pinch grips to thumbs up and everything in between. It is available now in the USA, UK and France for below-elbow amputee adults and children aged eight and above.
