  • Acupuncturist gives talk on pain and anxiety

    Alex Gilmartin is an Acupuncturist and former NHS Physiotherapist. Having recently given a talk about acupressure for chronic pain and anxiety for a Fibromyalgia group, she suggested to Outreach Officer for Scotland Emma Gration that her knowledge around acupressure could be useful to our Membership, and could be adapted to the needs of our Members, particularly surrounding those who experience Phantom Limb Pain.   • Jon-Allan Butterworth has retired from professional Cycling after an 11-year career

    Jon-Allan’s cycling journey began just 10 weeks after having his arm amputated due to injuries suffered in an attack at the Basra Air Station in August 2017. It was while he was still recovering at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Hedley Court in Surrey when he first made contact with British Cycling at a Paralympics GB talent ID day in Loughborough. After being selected the former RAF Weapons Technician went on to set a world record in the c5 kilo at the 2011 World Championships before he made his Paralympic debut at the London Paralympics in 2012

  • Garden Grants 2020

    Sometimes it can be difficult for Members to maintain their gardens. Blesma awards an annual grant of up to £300 to each individual who submits a grant form. The application, which must be submitted by January 2021, needs to be accompanied by receipts or a signed statement from your gardener.
