    Calling all volunteers, Blesma buckets at the ready! We are dusting off our buckets for 2020 and heading to the Capital once again – and we need your help! London Bridge and Waterloo are first on the list this year and we would love to see you there! Volunteers don't need any previous experience; a willing heart, enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ attitude are the only essentials! Blesma relies on public donations to continue its work.  We will be collecting at: London Bridge Underground Station, London – Thursday 19th March 2020 – slots

    Benefits For the previous four years, most working age benefits were kept at their 2015/16 cash value. This did not affect disability, carers and pensioner benefits which saw a yearly increase. Due to the general election last year’s Autumn budget was cancelled. The government had previously announced there would be an end to the freeze in payment. There is a Spring budget planned for 11 March 2020 and the government policy will be confirmed then. We will update our Members in the following bulletin in Summer.     Michelle Murphy’s Life changing experience on an Arizona Horse trip. Polishing up her horsemanship skills on her first Blesma trip was Michelle Murphy, who went on the Arizona horseback activity. She learnt about ranch life and went on horse riding trails too. Michelle told Blesma, 'It changed my life.' For 22 years Michelle, a Corporal, served in the Royal Corps of Signals.   • Corie Mapp wins Para-bobsleigh World Cup gold in St Moritz

    Blesma Member Corie Mapp has his sights set on the prestigious para-bobsleigh title after an amazing start to the season. The former Household Cavalry officer is going for Gold at the World Championships in March, after already bagging many first place and silver medals at tournaments this year. He has also become the first Briton to win a European Para-Bobsleigh title. Corie was deployed to Afghanistan attached to the Vikings. In 2010, while on patrol a sergeant was shot.
