  • Winners of Grand Prize Draw 2017 announced

    Winners have been announced for the highly anticipated Blesma Grand Prize Draw. The Grand Prize Draw was launch for the third year as part of the annual fundraising initiative Blesma Week back in March. Prizes up for grabs included the chance to win £1000 and a Olympus Camera donated by Olympus KeyMed. The Grand Prize Draw raised an incredible £10,216 for wounded veterans. All proceeds raised through Blesma Week will go towards funding Blesma’s vital work supporting injured serving personnel and veterans.

  • Double amputee veteran to reattempt Matterhorn climb

    A double amputee Army veteran is again attempting to summit one of the deadliest mountains in the world. Neil Heritage, 36, from Dorset, is set to climb the Matterhorn next month in his second attempt to summit the mountain. If Neil and his team reach the summit, he will be the first double above knee amputee to complete the challenge. The former corporal, who was injured by a suicide bomber in Iraq in 2004, attempted the climb last year but had to make the decision to turn back. “Last year a number of things went wrong as the challenge had never been done before” said

  • Blesma Community Programme reaches over 8,500 young people in 2017

    The Blesma Community Programme trains up Blesma members who have lost limbs, the use of their limbs or eyesight, to tell their stories and deliver free workshops in schools with the purpose to inspire and motivate pupils from all walks of life.  We have reached over 8,500 people in 2017 The Blesma Community Programme is an ambitious scheme that was set up last year to inspire and motivate thousands of students in the UK.   • Blesma buckets brimming after a wonderful week

    Thank you to everyone who supported Blesma Week 2017! You helped raise £60,000! They climbed, they cycled, they baked… no event was too big or too small as Members, fundraisers and volunteers across the country supported our wounded veterans during Blesma Week. The fourth annual week of fundraising and awareness raising, which this year ran from 05 to 11 June, saw Members climb a whopping 4,531 feet and supporters cycle an impressive 150 miles while others launched an 8,000-mile rowing challenge to help raise £60,000 for the Association.
