Row2Recovery make it into the history books as the first all amputee crew to row the Atlantic

Blesma's Row2Recovery Atlantic mission ended in glory when its four man crew set a world record as the first British all amputee crew to row across an ocean. The group, who set off from the Canary Islands on 20 December 2015, took 47 days to complete the 3,000-mile row to Antigua. Melvyn Auty MBE - obituary

Melvyn Auty MBE passed away on 22nd January 2016. Having lost a leg below the knee and receiving damage to his other foot in Palestine during National Service, he became an active member of Blesma, spending more than 40 years as a Welfare Officer in South Yorkshire. Mervyn was recognised for his work in the 1998 New Year’s Honours list, when HM The Queen awarded him an MBE for his services to Blesma. This was one of his proudest moments. After retiring from work as an editor on the South Yorkshire Post and then from his Blesma duties he continued to take an active interest

The team at Verdi Studios donated their time and studio to Blesma

Over two separate days, the team at Verdi Studios donated their time and studio to Blesma, The Limbless Veterans charity, who also have their office in Chadwell Heath. Photography is a popular hobby for a number of amputee and spinal cord injured military veterans and on learning this Parm & Kirsty were quick to offer the studio days free of charge to the charity.
