World’s first all-amputee crew have successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean

Team Row2Recovery, made up of four veteran amputees, have set a new world record by becoming the first all-amputee crew to row, unsupported, over 3,000 nautical miles from La Gomera to Antigua.

They made it!

The crew have spent 47 days at sea with a gruelling 2-hours on, 2-hours off routine to raise money for Blesma, Help for Heroes, The Endeavour Fund, and the Row2Recovery programme and have currently raised over £26,000.

We would love to send a message out to people that there is a life beyond injury, you can achieve great things if you set your mind to it

Lance Corporal Cayle Royce

Everyone at Blesma would like to extend their congratulations to the crew and their support staff for what is a truly fantastic achievement, and hope that they enjoy some well-deserved rest.

Four veterans, three legs, one goal, and the goal achieved in great style. Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, is so pleased Cayle, Lee, Nigel and Paddy finished safely to celebrate this first for amputees; a true world record.
