Barefoot feat of endurance for Craig on 96-mile walk
15 July 2022A former Sapper is walking 96 miles barefoot across the West Highland Way to raise funds for Blesma. Craig Curtis will walk from Milngavie, north of Glasgow, to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands in a linear long-distance route, with an element of hill walking. The Royal Engineer turned personal trainer from Lanarks is currently “preparing his feet” for the tough terrain ahead. ‘Sheila the Agila’ embarks on 27,000-mile roadtrip
12 July 2022A prosthetist and an occupational therapist are gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime in which they will drive a 27,000-mile ‘rally’ in a 19-year-old Vauxhall Agila in aid of Blesma. Doug Oldrey and Alex Hunter were set to take on the Mongol Rally in 2020, but after the event was recently cancelled for the third year in a row, the couple from Oxford decided to plan their own route. Lexi is looking at seven races in six months in aid of Blesma
27 June 2022Lexi Chambers is set to mark Blesma's 90th anniversary with a series of challenges. The former Royal Signals Soldier, marathon runner, and award-winning fitness instructor have seven events planned from May to October. The first of Lexi’s challenges is scheduled for 15 May with the Exmouth triathlon, where she will swim, cycle using her hand bike and use her everyday wheelchair. A week later Lexi will complete her first half marathon at the Great West Run on 22 May, followed by the Rehab Triathlon in Plymouth on 23 June, the Cardiff Summer Half Marathon on 3
