  • Blesma to feature heavily in fourth Invictus Games

    Twenty one Blesma Members have been selected to compete for the UK team at this year’s Invictus Games, which will be held in Sydney, Australia in October. More hopefuls than ever before – a whopping 451 people – applied to be a part of the UK squad, with just 72 wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans selected. The Games will see 500 competitors from 18 nations compete in 11 adaptive sports, with sailing set to be introduced for the first time. We want you to send in pictures that capture the beauty of the countryside, cities, people and all the wonderful life within it.   From all your entries, the best photographs will be chosen to make up the Blesma Calendar for 2019, which all members will receive a copy.

  • Winners of Grand Prize Draw 2018 announced

    The lucky winners of the highly anticipated Grand Prize Draw have been announced. The Grand Prize Draw 2018 was launched earlier this year as part of Blesma’s annual fundraising initiative Blesma Week. Prizes up for grabs included the chance to win £1000 kindly donated by Centro PLC and a luxury hamper donated by Procter and Gamble. This year, the fundraiser raised an incredible £6,845 for our injured veterans. All proceeds raised through Blesma Week will go towards funding Blesma’s vital work supporting injured serving personnel and veterans. Blesma Member and Outreach

  • Wounded veterans crew adapted tall ship to Jersey

    A group of injured veterans and their family members are set to sail the English Channel in a fully adapted tall ship, thanks to Blesma, The Limbless Veterans and the Jubilee Sailing Trust. On Saturday 18 August, 18 Blesma Members along with their family members, carers and JST staff will board SV Tenacious, which is specially designed to be accessible for all abilities throughout, to travel on a week-long voyage, as part of Blesma’s WW1 centenary commemorations.
