  • Blesma mourns death of Queen Elizabeth II

    Blesma wish to send their deepest condolences to the Royal Family following news of the death of Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was an unstinting supporter and great friend of the Armed Forces and her veterans. While we mourn her passing, we remain extremely thankful for a lifetime of service and selflessness. Blesma has passed on it’s condolences to our patron HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO, the Queen’s cousin.

  • British and Argentine Falklands Veterans are uniting to scale Mont Blanc

    Former soldiers from the Argentine forces, Gurkhas, Welsh Guards, Royal Engineers, SAS, and the Royal Marines will attempt to scale Mont Blanc in an “act of reconciliation” to mark the 40th anniversary of the conflict. The six-day mission to climb the 15,774ft mountain will be led by former Welsh Guardsman Will Kevans in an effort to raise funds for Blesma. Will said: "In the spirit of brotherhood, this is an opportunity to climb with fellow veterans, to share stories with our former adversaries and to honour the memory of those we all carry with us."   • Photography Exhibition set to showcase the work of Blesma Members

    A photography exhibition at the University of Plymouth is set to showcase the work of injured veterans.   The 250 photographs on display are the work of injured veterans from the Military Charity Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, who all form part of the ‘Southwest Photography Group’.  The group of now 17 was founded in 2020 by Royal Navy Darran Thompson to give photographers in the area a weekly focus during the lockdo

  • Blesma nominated charity at the 2022 Belfast International Tattoo

    Blesma is delighted to be the charity of choice at this year’s Belfast International Tattoo. To celebrate our 90th anniversary, the Belfast International Tattoo has chosen to recognise Blesma’s incredible work in supporting injured and limbless veterans to live independent and fulfilling lives.  As well as raising donations for the charity around SSE Arena Belfast, Blesma Members are even included in the performance programme, joining the greatest acts from all four corners of the globe on the arena platform.
