Blesma’s annual national week of fundraising is happening May 20-26.
Blesma Week 2019 is all about raising awareness of who we are and what we do. This is the first Blesma Week where our Outreach Officers are able to join forces with our Fundraising and Communications teams to help spread the word in each of our nine regions. With the support of our Members and volunteers ‘out on the ground’ during the Week too, we hope to raise Blesma’s profile all over the nation!
Blesma Outreach Officers are busy organising a range of different activities that they will be running during the Week from cycle events to pub quizzes and engaging with local military units and our Fundraising Department is busy organising an exciting range of activities including two brand new initiatives:
Boots On for Blesma virtual 10km – our very first virtual event will take place in the month of May to coincide with Blesma Week. You can run, walk, swim or cycle 10km in one go or throughout May. As long as you confirm you have completed the distance you will earn a Boots On for Blesma medal.
Bite sized fitness circuits with a limbless veteran - Some Blesma Members have created their own personalised military circuits (for all abilities) with exercises they like to do to keep fit . You can complete one or more of them while raising sponsorship for Blesma. Its launch will coincide with Blesma Week so stay tuned for further updates!
There will of course be a return of some of our favourites including buckets collections in train stations and high streets as well as helping supporters who have their own exciting fundraising ideas.
To find out more about getting involved check out the site nearer the time, email fundraising@blesma.org or give the office a call.
