Blesma has confirmed that Chief Executive Barry Le Grys is stepping down from his role.
An update from our Chairman.
Dear Blesma Members,
Those of you who attended Members Weekend will have heard me tell those gathered that Blesma is in good shape. Unfortunately, against this successful backdrop our Chief Executive, Barry Le Grys, has been approached to take on a challenging Chief Executive role with the Motability charity, an organisation many of you will know. Barry did not solicit this role but after careful consideration feels that it is a challenge he wishes to pursue. Barry will be leaving us at the end of September. We are obviously very disappointed to lose him but wish Barry every success in delivering support for the wider disabled community and thank him for the outstanding work he has accomplished on behalf of Blesma. There is never a best time for this but in terms of our annual governance cycle fortunately the Autumn is the least disruptive time for change.
I wish to assure you that our quest to find an able successor has already begun. There will be a strenuous process with a widespread search, including the Membership, and all Trustees will be involved fully. The aim is to have the new Chief Executive in place in a timely way in the later part of the year.
Best wishes
Gen Sir Adrian Bradshaw, Chairman
