12 December 2016

Blesma, the limbless veterans are pleased to announced that the Blesma Community Programme has been nominated for a Millie Award 2017.

This year, Blesma worked alongside the Drive Project to introduce a new skillset to Members who have battled and overcome adversity. The programme taught Members to deliver their story in a professional and engaging way. It was taught by theatre industry professionals over a 5-day course. The Blesma Community Programme has been nominated in The Sun Military Awards “Support to our Forces” category.

Once Blesma Members are equipped with these skills, they have the opportunity to go into schools across the country, with the support by one of the mentors from their training, to deliver a free school workshop to students about overcoming adversity and setting and achieving realistic goals.

How To Watch

Watch The Sun Military Awards - The Millies exclusively on Forces TV. Watch the coverage on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December at 1800.

Hopefully, they will listen to our stories and see how we dealt with things and then their problems may seem less daunting.
