Four Blesma Members have set off today on a challenge to reach the South Pole in the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge.
Kate Philp, Guy Disney, Ibrar Ali and Duncan Slater are part of Team Glenfiddich and will be taking on Team US and Team Commonwealth in a race to the South Pole.
The race will cover 335km in 16 days with temperatures as low as -35°c and constant winds. Members of all teams have sustained injuries while serving their countries, making this no ordinary South Pole expedition!
Everyone here at Blesma wishes Team Glenfiddich, and the other teams, the best of luck with their race. May the best team win!
“All Members and staff of Blesma, The Limbless Veterans want to wish our four Blesma Members, Duncan Slater, Ibrar Ali MC, Kate Philp and Guy Disney every success in their quest to reach The South Pole with HRH Prince Harry as part of The South Pole Allied Challenge 2013. We will be following them every step of the way on their inspirational journey.”
