Military charity looking for people to take part in sky-diving fundraiser to support limbless veterans

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans are looking for adventurous fundraisers to take part the annual sky-diving event ‘Fall for the Fallen’.

This year will see the event take place at GoSkydive, Old Sarum Park, Salisbury over the weekend of 12-13 August.

The charity are aiming to raise £100,000 through the event to carry on supporting veterans who have lost limbs or the use of their limbs to lead independent and fulfilling lives through welfare support and an activities programme.

Zanika Fearon, Community & Events Fundraising Manager at Blesma says: “Although combat operations in Afghanistan ended in December 2014, those who suffered as a result of that conflict and others besides are still living with the consequences. Events like this one raise vital funds that allows Blesma to carry on supporting them throughout their lives. So please show your support, sign up to take part in Fall for the Fallen and jump in memory of a comrade, whilst raising funds for those who have to live with life changing amputations.”

For more information and to sign up, please contact the Fundraising Team on 0208 548 7089 or email events@blesma.org. Alternatively you can sign up on the website at: https://blesma.org/support-us/find-an-event/extreme-events/fall-for-the-fallen/

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity for all limbless service men and women, their widows and dependants. It was formed in the years following the First World War and became a national charity in 1932.
