    Benefits For the previous four years, most working age benefits were kept at their 2015/16 cash value. This did not affect disability, carers and pensioner benefits which saw a yearly increase. Due to the general election last year’s Autumn budget was cancelled. The government had previously announced there would be an end to the freeze in payment. There is a Spring budget planned for 11 March 2020 and the government policy will be confirmed then. We will update our Members in the following bulletin in Summer.     Michelle Murphy’s Life changing experience on an Arizona Horse trip. Polishing up her horsemanship skills on her first Blesma trip was Michelle Murphy, who went on the Arizona horseback activity. She learnt about ranch life and went on horse riding trails too. Michelle told Blesma, 'It changed my life.' For 22 years Michelle, a Corporal, served in the Royal Corps of Signals.     Blesma Member Corie Mapp has his sights set on the prestigious para-bobsleigh title after an amazing start to the season. The former Household Cavalry officer is going for Gold at the World Championships in March, after already bagging many first place and silver medals at tournaments this year.   • Blesma Member Troy Conner uses his story to inspire others

    Troy Conner was 31 years old when the vehicle he was travelling in detonated an improvised explosive device. His three colleagues were killed and he was left with numerous injuries including a traumatic brain injury. Ten years on, he has found the strength to share his story of adversity and resilience to inspire others. Upon being injured, he was taken to hospital where doctors operated on him to reduce the pressure on his brain.
