Invictus Games London 2014
15 September 2014The first Invictus Games came to an end Sunday with a star-studded line-up for the Closing Ceremony. The games have featured more than 400 competitors – both serving military personnel and veterans – across nine disciplines. Teams have travelled from the USA, Afghanistan, New Zealand and across Europe to take part.

Marking the centenary of the First World War
30 July 2014On Monday, 4th August we marked the start of WW1 at Westminster Abbey with a vigil on the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. The Dean and Chapter of Westminster held a candlelit Vigil, in presence of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall, to make mark the outbreak of the First World War. The Vigil took place between 10pm and 11pm and the evening included prayer and penitence. It concluded with the Abbey being sent into darkness except for a single light on the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. The light was extinguished at the stroke if 11pm - to reflect lights
