Cycle challenge goes like a dream for Henry Deamer
30 January 2021Henry challenged himself to break the 200km barrier after seeing a school friend complete a charity fundraiser in his garden. “Henry comes from an Army family,” explained Martin, Henry’s father. “I served in the Adjutant General’s Corps for 22 years, Henry’s grandad completed 35 years in the military, his great grandfather served in both World Wars, and his great great grandfather was killed in WWI.”

Limb Loss in a time of Covid
28 January 2021Winter is here and, as the darker nights settle in, it is a timely opportunity to reflect on the year. COVID-19 has impacted negatively on so many aspects of our daily lives, making the year challenging for everyone. Members have often had to draw on every ounce of their resilience to cope with the impact of the pandemic, and their fortitude has been immense. I would like to highlight the work of the NHS Limb Service and broader NHS Services, and thank the staff who have continued to deliver support during extremely challenging times. Their dedication is inspirational.

26 January 2021Opportunistic criminals are now using the COVID-19 Vaccine to attempt to con people out of funds and their personal data. These scammers have so far been active in the North East and in Wales, but it's important to stay vigilant wherever you live. The Police Economic Crime Team has become aware that criminals have been sending texts and emails attempting to lure people to apply for the COVID-19 vaccine.
