  • Wheelchair Laser Tag Tournament

    Blesma Volunteer George and I drove down to Fareham from London to take part in Member Richard Hunt's Wheelchair Laser Tag Tournament, which was raising money for us through his upcoming challenge, The Great Paddle Round.   • Row2Recovery update

    Blesma Member Cayle Royce updates us from the middle of the Atlantic.... The team are due to arrive in Antigua early next week! Day 38 (10th Jan) - Cayle Royce A splashy night last night but we topped it off with an amazing sunrise. I was in a bit of a daze as the sun came up so when I saw a fin off the stern of the boat I wasn’t sure if I was hallucinating. I kept watching and then I saw it again. It started popping up a lot before ‘gasp’ it surfaced and we saw a 2ft dorsal fin – it was massive! I think it might have been a shark, but the water was dark and it w

  • Peter Newlove - obituary

    4 January 2014

    Peter Newlove joined the Northamptonshire Regiment in 1943 and later transferred to the Green Howards. He was discharged in 1944 after being wounded at the Battle of Anzio in Italy. His injury led to the amputation of his right arm in 1949 in Scotland, where he met and married his wife, Rose. Peter and Rose had three sons and a daughter, and Peter worked for many years for British Aluminium and, later, Tarmac. Peter was an active Member of Blesma from 1968 in the Stirling and, later, Glasgow Branches. He was Minute Secretary from 1992 until 2010, all in longhand. He was Bran
