  • Fred Pavey carries 50lb and makes £1400 for Blesma!

    A former Royal Engineer has completed a ten-day 50-pound loaded challenge with wacky household appliances after being inspired by fellow Blesma Member Neil Heritage. Back in June, Fred Pavey, 64, from Kent, decided to get fit and kick started his fitness journey by walking up and down his garden for 30 repetitions, carrying 30 pounds. Determined to increase his fitness and inspired by double amputee Neil Heritage summitting the Matterhorn in August, Fred took on a ten-day loaded challenge.   • Nerys takes on the Second part of her Triple Endurance challenge!

    Today, Nerys is taking on her second challenge; cycling 100 miles from around London'd Royal Parks! She has already completed a 105-mile continuous push in her everyday wheelchair; with only 100 miles to cycle today before her next and final task of swimming the English Channel sometime this month. Nerys said: “I’m feeling relaxed.     This is the story of humanitarian photographer Giles Duley, one of the few Blesma Members to have never been in the military. He was interviewed for Blesma Magazine in 2016. Giles Duley was an acclaimed fashion and music photographer before he changed direction to focus on documenting humanitarian projects and disasters around the world. Then, in 2011, whilst on patrol with the US Army in Afghanistan, he stood on an IED, losing both legs and an arm.
