  • Amputee Royal Signals Veteran takes on London Marathon for Blesma

    Lexi Chambers, 44, will be one of thirteen taking part in this year’s Virgin London Marathon in aid of military charity Blesma, The Limbless Veterans. Former Royal Signals Soldier and Blesma Member Lexi, from Devon, is also hoping to complete the marathon in under five hours in order to break the world record for the fastest female to complete a marathon using a non-sport wheelchair.   Lexi became a full-time wheelchair user following an elective amputation of her left leg below the knee after suffering from excruciating pain caused by hammer toes, which led to Complex Regiona

  • Blesma mourns death of Queen Elizabeth II

    Blesma wish to send their deepest condolences to the Royal Family following news of the death of Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was an unstinting supporter and great friend of the Armed Forces and her veterans. While we mourn her passing, we remain extremely thankful for a lifetime of service and selflessness. Blesma has passed on it’s condolences to our patron HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO, the Queen’s cousin.

  • British and Argentine Falklands Veterans are uniting to scale Mont Blanc

    Former soldiers from the Argentine forces, Gurkhas, Welsh Guards, Royal Engineers, SAS, and the Royal Marines will attempt to scale Mont Blanc in an “act of reconciliation” to mark the 40th anniversary of the conflict. The six-day mission to climb the 15,774ft mountain will be led by former Welsh Guardsman Will Kevans in an effort to raise funds for Blesma.   • Photography Exhibition set to showcase the work of Blesma Members

    A photography exhibition at the University of Plymouth is set to showcase the work of injured veterans.   The 250 photographs on display are the work of injured veterans from the Military Charity Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, who all form part of the ‘Southwest Photography Group’.  The group of now 17 was founded in 2020 by Royal Navy Darran Thompson to give photographers in the area a weekly focus during the lockdown
