Back in 2021, Denise Fitzgerald was selected to attend Widows Week for the first time. This was her account... After luckily being selected for the ‘Widows Week’ down in Hayling Island the time was getting nearer to depart. Having to attend somewhere on your own again without your husband was a daunting thought. It was however something we needed to do to move on and very grateful for the opportunity. Blesma Freemason Charity Initiative 2021

In 2021, a German Masonic Lodge selected Blesma as it's Charity of Concern. Following a request from Ian Harper, Blesma’s new Director Independence and Wellbeing, Grand Master Most Worshipful Brother Jeremy Stevens declared this his designated Charity Concern for his first year of tenure in office at The Grand Lodge of British Freemasons in Germany. He launched this initiative with a pledge of 3000€. A call for support to their constituent lodges, and other orders, was sent out earlier this year and was met with a fantastic and heart-warming response.

When Shona Brownlee slid off a ledge during the final exercise of her basic training in 2012, she thought she had simply twisted her ankle and walked it off.
