    Over the weekend, music lovers gathered at the Brentwood festival for three days of music, food, drink and laughter. The festival picked Blesma as their chosen Festival charity and the festival helped raised thousands for wounded veterans. Blesma would like to thank organisers Jason and Karen Jopson for the amazing opportunity, the festival crew for looking after all our staff and members and the thousands of festival goers who generously dug into their pockets to support us.   • Double leg amputee to ride from London to Paris to raise money for Military Charity

    A double leg amputee is taking on the challenge of riding 300 miles from London to Paris to raise money for a military charity. John Jones, 59, who now lives in France, is taking on the four day London to Paris cycle challenge to help raise awareness for Blesma, the Limbless Veterans charity. In July 1982 whilst John was serving in the Welsh Guards and awaiting to return home following the war in the Falklands, John and eleven other men were hit by an air to air missile fired by an RAF Harrier at Stanley airfield. Mercifully no one was killed but John lost both legs from below

  • Blesma Photography - Wildlife & Landscape in the Isle of Mull

    On the 18th June, twelve happy Blesma Members, lead by support officer Charley Streather, went to the Isle Of Mull on one of Blesma's Photography Activities.  The link below takes you to the Blesma Photography website where you can read Charley's account of the week which is called, 'Pon Reflection.  They had bags of fun together, improved their photography skills and completely excelled themselves physically in the wild and wonderful environment of the Isle Of Mull.   • Jerome Church OBE Memorial Service to be held on 22nd July

    At the end of June, it was with deep sadness we learned of the passing away of Jerome Church OBE, our general Secretary for thirteen years from 2000 to 2013. Jerome’s family are holding a Memorial Service on Friday 22nd July 2016 at 11:00am at The Oratory, Brompton Road, London SW7 2RP for anyone who knew Jerome and want to pay their respects. Once again all Members, Trustees and staff of Blesma, the Limbless Veterans extend our thoughts and sincerest best wishes to Jane and Jerome’s family at this sad time.
