The Briscoe / Stranack family are smiling once again after Blesma helped them secure a much-needed family break. After a year of ups and downs which were only magnified during Lockdown, Blesma Member Danny Stranack, partner Alison and their four children Elise, Megan, Abbie and George were in need of some well-deserved respite. Step Together- Elaine's story

Blesma Member Elaine Corner was medically discharged from the Army in 2012 after becoming a below knee amputee following a motorbike accident. As she wasn’t working, she engaged with Step Together Volunteering, a charity which helps injured service personnel, veterans and their families among other groups to find volunteering opportunities in their local community. Novice Kayaker Nerys Completes Triple Challenge!

Nerys Pearce will have to wait until 2021 to attempt to realise her goal of becoming the first person paralysed from the chest down to swim the English Channel. “I got hypothermia nine hours into my Channel swim in October, and although I’ll be back next year, failing to complete my challenge didn’t sit well with me,” said the 39-year-old former combat medic.
