MG Rover Clubs go 'Leg 4 Leg' in aid of Blesma

Next month, representatives of MG Rover clubs around the UK will be hitting the road on an epic motoring event ‘Leg4leg’, in aid of Blesma. Their mission? To pass the Leg4leg emblem (pictured) from club to club, starting from Land’s End and finishing at John O’Groats, and raising vital funds for injured veterans along the way. Real life stories: Afghan Veteran Mark Smith

Mark Smith lost his right leg after an accident during a live firing exercise in Canada. Since being discharged from the Grenadier Guards, he had gone on to become a trailblazing bodybuilder. He has already won a national competition and is now wholly focused on becoming the top disabled competitor in the world. “I’d always wanted to be in the Forces and so I joined when I was 18. I joined the Grenadier Guards and did six months of ceremonial duties in London before going to Bosnia where we involved in a lot of house searches and dealing with human trafficking." I went to Bagh

Internationally acclaimed photographer Marcus Lyon has agreed to become Blesma’s latest high profile ambassador

Marcus Lyon a British artist and photographer of international renown. He has taken portraits of HM the Queen and the last four British Prime Ministers, as well as some of the poorest people on earth in slums and ghettos worldwide. His work is held in collections from the Art Institute of Chicago to the Arts Council of Great Britain, and he is founder of the award-winning multidisciplinary art studio, Glassworks. Marcus recently became a Blesma ambassador, and plans to help Members increase their enjoyment of, and ability in, photography.

Blesma Operations Director 'Rides 100' and raises £1,150!

Congratulations to Blesma Operations Director, Ian Waller, who successfully completed the third annual 'Ride 100' event at the weekend, raising over £1,000 for Blesma in the process. The event sees over 25,000 participants cycle 100 miles on closed roads through London and Surrey, within eight and a half hours. Ian said, "I intended to take part in the London Marathon for Blesma this year, but because of injury had to pull out.
