We cannot ever appreciate the struggles that John Phillips has gone though, but this has been his life for 40 years. A constant reminder of his trauma in the Falklands war. This is his story.   • From Dunmow to Dover, then off to Ypres!

    Blesma Member, ambassador and avid Fundraiser Jonathan Bell is back on his bike, and looking at a bigger challenge than ever!  This September, Jonathan Bell will be joining Mike Dalton and his friends within the Dunmow Round Table in a massive undertaking. They will be cycling from Dunmow in Essex, to Ypres, via Dover.  The Dunmow Round Table are great supporters of Blesma. The last time Mike and his group took on a challenge of this magnitude they were able to raise an unbelievable £60,000 for the charity. The event will last for two days, beginning on

  • Colonel James Phillips made first Wales Veterans’ Commissioner

    The Office for Veterans Affairs and the Office of the Secretary of State for Wales have jointly appointed Colonel James Phillips as Veterans’ Commissioner for Wales. Welsh Secretary Simon Hart said he was delighted that James Phillips had been appointed to the role, which will build on the success of counterpart roles in Scotland and Northern Ireland and will mean that all devolved nations have a Veterans’ Commissioner. James will be working to enhance the support for veterans in Wales, as well as scrutinising and advising on government policy for veterans.
