Blesma Operations Director 'Rides 100' and raises £1,150!
7 August 2015Congratulations to Blesma Operations Director, Ian Waller, who successfully completed the third annual 'Ride 100' event at the weekend, raising over £1,000 for Blesma in the process. The event sees over 25,000 participants cycle 100 miles on closed roads through London and Surrey, within eight and a half hours. Ian said, "I intended to take part in the London Marathon for Blesma this year, but because of injury had to pull out. Blesma duo going for Para-Canoe World Champs
5 August 2015Two Blesma Members are hoping to paddle to Paralympics glory for Great Britain. Nick Beighton and Nikki Paterson are subjecting themselves to grueling sessions on the water and in the gym as they prepare for a kayak sprint to Rio. They have both been selected for the star-studded GB squad competing at the Paracanoe World Championships in Italy later this month, which is a qualifying event for the 2016 Paralympics. 22 July 2015Blesma Supporter David Alexander sets off on a 300 mile cycle challenge from London to Paris this morning, in aid of Blesma, and in memory of his friend and Blesma Member Paul Burns. David is due to finish his epic cycle challenge on Saturday 25 July, cycling along the Champs Elysee just ahead of the (hopeful) winner of this year's Tour de France, Chris Froome. 13 July 2015Team Hempstead - Quizzing for Blesma! 27th June 2015 We had a good turnout for our Blesma quiz which was held in the village of Hempstead, Kent. All the information I could find regarding Blesma was displayed on each of the tables, and many of those who attended had never heard of Blesma! Sutton and Merton Blesma Branch Members generously donated some lovely raffle prizes. The Royal Engineers Museum Gillingham donated a family entry ticket valid for a full year from the date of issue
