Remembering those we have Lost: Elizabeth Bartlett

WWII Women’s Land Army Veteran Elizabeth Bartlett passed away on 15 April due to coronavirus. She was 99 years old. Elizabeth was just 21 years old when she gave up her job in a Sheffield steelworks in October 1941 to join the war effort. She was one of 80,000 women who signed up for the home-based force to take farming and industrial jobs to help the war effort, and was sent to work on a farm in Kent. Troops Tackle Tabs to Raise Money for Blesma

Serving Personnel of 34 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment have been running, tabbing, and even leopard crawling 7.5km to raise money for Blesma. “I’ve been a supporter for a long time,” said Lance Corporal Callum Brown, whose idea it was to start the challenge. “The work the charity does is unbelievable – it is still providing vital support with everything that’s going on. Albert Hazeltine lost a leg in the Korean War, and in recent years had to have his below-knee amputation taken above the knee. He was a latecomer to Blesma, but soon became a great fan!
