Forces News Interview Josh Boggi
18 June 2020Blesma Members taking part in Making Generation R have been sharing their stories online with school children to help them talk more openly about mental health. Forces News shared the story, and interviewed Member Josh Boggi. Making Generation R, run by Blesma, normally sees veterans visiting schools. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the talks have now been made virtual.

Blesma Book Club
16 June 2020Blesma Virtual Book Club – L&SE, SW and Midlands During lockdown, the London and South-East, South West and Midlands Outreach Officers decided to team up; creating a book club for Members which has been taking place both online and offline. This has been a great opportunity for Members to stay connected with one another, and also build new relationships with Members from across the regions. Leigh Bland takes on a charity challenge!
13 June 2020A Royal Air Force Veteran, who had his leg amputated below the knee after a severe ankle injury, is aiming to cycle 100 miles in one day to raise vital funds for two Military charities that have supported him during UK lockdown. Leigh Bland, 40, from Leicestershire, plans to complete the 100-mile cycle on 14 June in aid Blesma, The Limbless Veterans and America military charity Wounded Warrior Project. Leigh was due to take part in the 2020 Prudential RideLondon, but the event has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now he will be cycling 100 miles

Blesma at Home workout (Level 1 Session 2)
12 June 2020Gregg Stevenson has devised a weekly home workout especially for his fellow Members, to help us keep our mind and bodies healthy during lock-down. "My name is Gregg and I am a Blesma Member that works at SMRC Preston (the prosthetics centre gym). We focus on the benefits that strength, fitness and mobility can bring to amputees and wheelchair users. I intend to develop several fitness sessions for you to try at home, with minimal equipment.
