23 August 2020Perhaps no area of support has had to adapt quite as dramatically as the Activities Team. Though the coronavirus crisis has led to many activities being postponed, Jess March and her team have been working non-stop to keep up with the latest guidance, make changes to the programme, and secure new dates for activities that can be done safely. Blesma knows that Members would benefit from activities now more than ever. As we slowly and cautiously move out of lockdown, the team are looking forward to welcoming you back to the ‘new normal’, with new opportunities

Fred Pavey carries 50lb and makes £1400 for Blesma!
21 August 2020A former Royal Engineer has completed a ten-day 50-pound loaded challenge with wacky household appliances after being inspired by fellow Blesma Member Neil Heritage. Back in June, Fred Pavey, 64, from Kent, decided to get fit and kick started his fitness journey by walking up and down his garden for 30 repetitions, carrying 30 pounds. Determined to increase his fitness and inspired by double amputee Neil Heritage summitting the Matterhorn in August, Fred took on a ten-day loaded challenge. Nerys takes on the Second part of her Triple Endurance challenge!
20 August 2020Today, Nerys is taking on her second challenge; cycling 100 miles from around London'd Royal Parks! She has already completed a 105-mile continuous push in her everyday wheelchair; with only 100 miles to cycle today before her next and final task of swimming the English Channel sometime this month.
