As we all know Remembrance Day 2020 will be different from any other.
Although the Coronavirus pandemic has led to the cancellation of many National events, such as the Annual March to the Cenotaph, we know that many of our Membership, along with the wider military community, will nonetheless be looking to mark Remembrance in their own personal ways.
Once again, it is a time to consider how to mark this poignant event, even though we are apart, and remind our community that Blesma is as united as ever and more together than ever. We are hoping to gather a collection of readings from our Members around Remembrance, which Blesma will craft into a video, in a similar style to these examples of our VE Day choir and our Message to Tony Hudgell.
We are therefore inviting all of our Members to record a video of themselves reading For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon. These will then be edited together in order to create a poignant video to mark Remembrance virtually via Blesma’s social media.
If there are any other thoughts or readings aside from our selected poem which you would like to record and share with us around Remembrance, we would love to receive these also.
