Today, Nerys is taking on her second challenge; cycling 100 miles from around London'd Royal Parks!

She has already completed a 105-mile continuous push in her everyday wheelchair; with only 100 miles to cycle today before her next and final task of swimming the English Channel sometime this month.

Nerys said: “I’m feeling relaxed. It’s a pretty hilly route but I’m going to keep nice and steady; nice and safe injury wise and just try to show people cycling big distances doesn’t have to be worrying.

“I’ll be doing the challenge on my hand bike this time which is a much easier position for my body than in my wheelchair. This is the middle challenge and the challenge that kept me ticking over into the Channel Swim.”

Nerys has so far raised £1600 for Blesma through her Triple Endurance Challenge. The charity has supported her after she was paralysed when a car reversed in front of her motorbike in October 2008.

“I would not be doing these challenges if it hadn’t been for Blesma getting me on the right path, always being so supportive and behind me. Blesma really saved my life. I don’t know where I be without them because five years ago, I was bed bound, 18 stone and wanting to end it. Blesma has turned my life around through their activities programme and welfare support. I wanted to do something to try and give back to the charity that’s given me phenomenal support.”
