Armed Forces Day is a chance for everyone in the UK to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
Though the situation with Covid-19 has meant that the many events which normally mark Armed Forces Day have now been cancelled, there are still many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved.
Blesma has put together an at-home schedule of activities, which may give you some ideas on how you might like to celebrate Armed Forces Day…
10.30am- Tea and Cakes!
12pm- Call a military friend and have a catch up.
3pm- Three Cheers at 3pm! In ‘Clap for the NHS’ fashion, join in with a nationwide ‘Hip, Hip, Hooray!’ for our Armed Forces at 3pm, whether it’s in your garden or on your doorstep.
8pm- Join in with The Blesma monthly quiz!
Want to show your appreciation- but too busy for the above? #SaluteOurForces is a simple way for anyone to pay tribute to the British Armed Forces community for their hard work, dedication and efforts to keep us safe in the UK and across the globe.
To share your salute, simply submit a photo or video to: https://www.armedforcesday.org.uk/get-involved/saluteourforces/
Or, just share it on your social media with the Hashtag #SaluteOurForces. Don’t forget your Blesma T-shirt!
Finally, we would like to thank and recognise each and every one of you for your incredible service to this country and others beyond. Thank you.
