The Blesma Community Programme is looking for individuals who are overcoming adversity of injury and would like to share their story with the wider community through public speaking and delivering workshops. The Blesma Community Programme is a 6 day Training Programme in London where you will be taught the skills to speak publicly about your individual journey, you will then go on to use these skills to tell your personal story to inspire young people across the country. You don’t need to have had any previous experience in public speaking to take part in the programme!
You will receive one-on one coaching in addition to group-based training alongside fellow Blesma members. The training programme will be run by the Theatre Industry’s leading experts in public speaking. During the training you will have the opportunity to practice your story on a West End Stage. Once you’re happy with your story, it will form part of a workshop based on the theme of resilience.
Following your 6 days of training, you will be asked to deliver your story as a part of the workshops that will have been devised over the course of the training programme. You will deliver your story alongside a professional workshop facilitator (who will support you in leading a practical workshop) in three schools or community centres. The 3 days of delivery will be paid employment. All travel and accommodation associated with the Blesma Community Programme will be paid for by the programme.
