Their Story

I served a full career in the Royal Artillery and was discharged in April 2012. On leaving the Army, I was employed by the Regular Forces Employment Association as the Employment Consultant in Tidworth Resettlement Centre, followed by four years with Combat Stress as a Regional Welfare Officer and the last 18 months working with Help for Heroes as the Community Outreach Officer for the South.

I’m looking forward to engaging with new and current Members, making the best use of the Charity sector to assist them in leading independent and fulfilling lives.

Amy Bio
Outreach Officer South

I joined Blesma in the Summer of 2023 after spending over 10 years working in the Charity Wellbeing Sector on the Isle of Wight, where I live. My love of music, after over 15 years working as a professional singer, brought me to be a practitioner of music therapy alongside project managing various other activities to aid wellbeing and reduce social isolation within the community. Having grown up with both Grandfathers and my cousin as veterans I felt passionately that I would like to use the skills I have to serve those that have served our country, & their families.

It is such a pleasure to be able to bring our members together at a range of events and activities and to see how much benefit they get from the support and understanding they show to each other. I also feel privileged to be welcomed into the homes of our more isolated members who cannot make it to the events. Keeping their connection to Blesma strong is so important.
