Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a benefit for people aged between 16 and 64 who because of a long-term illness or disability may need help with daily activities or getting around.

Who can claim Personal Independence Payment?

If you are.

  • Aged 16 – 64 at first point of claim
  • Having difficulty with your daily living or mobility

What is Attendance Allowance?

You may be able to claim Attendance Allowance if your ability to keep safe or look after your own personal care is affected by physical or mental illness or disability.

Who can claim Attendance Allowance?

  • Not already receiving Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance
  • Aged 65 or over
  • Having difficulty with your personal care
