Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity and membership association for limbless serving and ex-service men and women and their dependants.
We help all wounded servicemen and women who have lost limbs, the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.
Fundraising Volunteer – Office based
The main purpose of this role is to:
• Undertake administration tasks to support the fundraising team.
• Support a variety of income-generation functions, including individual giving, event fundraising, trust and foundations grant-making, legacy marketing, and corporate giving.
Key tasks you may be able to support:
• Process orders from our online shop, despatching materials
• Print and despatch postal mailings
• Research new opportunities to partner with community groups and companies, who are the most relevant match for Blesma
• Ad hoc research tasks on donor engagement, retention and supporter care.
Experience required
Essential
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Good spoken and written English.
• Initiative and the ability to work independently.
• A positive attitude to working as part of a small team.
Desirable
• An interest in charitable activities.
• An interest in the Armed Forces and/or disability
• Previous admin experience
Hours
To be agreed with the volunteer, in accordance with availability. It is hoped that the volunteer may be available at least one day a week.
Location: Chelmsford, Essex

This role is not suitable for remote working.
Fundraising Volunteer - Events
The main purpose of this role is to:
• Support the Blesma Fundraising Team at a local and/or regional level throughout the UK to raise money and awareness of the charity
Key tasks you may be able to support:
• Help at external fundraising and awareness raising events such as golf days, Armed Forces Day and Remembrance activities
• Help at Blesma bucket collections in various locations such as railways stations, shopping centres and racecourses
• Support at cheer stations for major events such as the Great North Run and London Marathon
Experience required
Essential
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• A positive attitude to working as part of a small team
Desirable
• An interest in charitable activities.
• An interest in the Armed Forces and/or disability
