Here is a step-by-step guide on how to set up a JustGiving page for a charity. A fundraising page is a secure and simple way to raise money for a charity of your choosing.

How does JustGiving work?

There are many ways to support a charity through JustGiving — whether you’re taking on a personal challenge, joining an organised event, or fundraising in memory of someone special. JustGiving securely manages the payment process, making it easy for supporters to donate online.

Simply choose your cause, plan your fundraiser, set up a fundraising page, and share it with friends, family, and your wider network on social media. Collected donations will be sent to the chosen charity.

Guide on how to set up a JustGiving Page

Before you get started: decide which cause you want to support, how much you’d like to raise, and whether you are particpating in an organised event (such as a marathon) or something you’re arranging yourself.

Then, follow these simple steps:

1. Sign in to your JustGiving account and select “Start Fundraising.”

2. When prompted, confirm that you are fundraising for a registered charity by choosing “Yes, continue.”

3. Search for and select the charity you wish to support.

4. Choose the type of fundraising you’re doing. For example, taking part in an event, celebrating a special occasion, fundraising in memory of someone, or creating your own challenge.

5. If your event doesn’t appear in the list, select “Add your own” and provide a short description of your activity.

6. Create a personalised web address for your page. This is the link you’ll share with friends, family, and supporters.

7. If you’re selling items or tickets (such as for a bake sale, raffle, auction, or event), indicate this when asked. Please note that donations to these pages are not eligible for Gift Aid.

8. Select “Create your page.”

Now you can share your page with family, friends, and colleagues. Remember: the more you talk about your fundraiser, the more money you can raise for your charity.

Why fundraise for Blesma?

Blesma provides a lifetime support for veterans who have suffered life-changing limb loss or the use of a limb, an eye or sight.

Thanks to your help, we can continue support veterans like Matt.

Matt Weston was just 20 when he lost three limbs to a bomb blast in Afghanistan.

"All I remember is a flash, my ears ringing, and the sense of falling. I lost both my legs and my right arm below the elbow in the blast. My rehab has been long, slow and difficult. I was in intensive care for a while and was in hospital for three months, and I've just had my fiftieth operation."

"If my chair breaks and I can't repair it, Blesma will get it done. I was in a bad place after my injury but Blesma have been there for me, by my side from day one."

How do I write a good fundraising story?

A strong fundraising story explains why you’re fundraising, why you chose your charity, and what you’re doing to raise money. Sharing your personal motivation helps supporters connect with your cause, while explaining how donations will be used shows the real impact of their support. Don’t forget to thank people for getting involved! A genuine message of appreciation can go a long way in encouraging generosity.
