The Hackney Half Marathon Route
The Hackney Half Marathon route is a closed-road, 13.1-mile course that takes runners through some of East London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. The route is largely flat, making it suitable for both first-time half marathon runners and those chasing a personal best. Participants run past local landmarks, green spaces, and residential streets, with strong spectator support along the way.
What time does the Hackney Half Start?
The Hackney Half Marathon usually starts in the morning, with runners released in waves to ensure a smooth and safe race experience. Exact start times, wave information, and arrival guidance will be shared with participants closer to race day.
Why should I fundraise for Blesma?
Blesma provides a lifetime support for veterans who have suffered life-changing limb loss or the use of a limb, an eye or sight.

Matt Weston was just 20 when he lost three limbs to a bomb blast in Afghanistan.
"All I remember is a flash, my ears ringing, and the sense of falling. I lost both my legs and my right arm below the elbow in the blast. My rehab has been long, slow and difficult. I was in intensive care for a while and was in hospital for three months, and I've just had my fiftieth operation."

Registration and Fundraising
There is a registration fee of £25 and a minimum fundraising requirement of £200.

- Where can I find the Race Day information?
Additional race day information will become available to all participants in the weeks leading up to the event. But if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please contact ‘hello@hackneymoves.com’
- Is there a bag drop available at the Hackney Half Marathon?
Yes - there will be a space to store your bag whilst you run. You will receive or collect your race number, which will also have attached your bag label and bag collection tab. More detailed information on this will be provided closer to the event date and will also be available in the Race Day Guide, which will be emailed to runners prior to the event.
- Are changing facilities available at the Hackney Half Marathon?
There is usually a limited amount of changing space available for runners to use at the Hackney Half, which will be located close to the bag drop area.

- Is there a race cut-off time?
There is a race cut-off time of 3 hours and 30 minutes for each runner, after which any runners still on the course will be asked to move to the pavements so that we can give Hackney residents their roads back!
