The national Remembrance Sunday Parade will take place on 12th November in 2023. There will be services held across the United Kingdom and a Remembrance Day parade will take place in central London, on the morning of Remembrance Sunday.
Remembrance Sunday always takes place on the Sunday closest to 11th November, which marks The Armistice – an international agreement to end WW1.
London Remembrance Sunday Parade Route and Schedule
If you’re thinking of attending the parade in London, watching online or on British TV, here’s the latest schedule:
8AM - Whitehall opens to the general public. The general public are advised to allow plenty of time when travelling due to police security checks.
9AM - Military detachments arrive at Horse Guards Parade and Whitehall.
10AM - All war veterans, including Blesma members and military personnel will make their way towards Parliament Square, onto Great George Street and then right onto Horse Guards Road.
11AM - A national two-minute silence will be marked by the firing of a gun by the Kings Troop, on Horse Guards Parade, followed by 11 chimes of Big Ben. Once the two-minute silence ends, there will be another firing of a Gun signalling the end of the silence, and the bugle call 'The Last Post' is played.
Approximately 11:02AM - The Cenotaph Service will commence. Wreaths will be laid at the foot of the Cenotaph memorial by members of parliament, religious leaders, His Majesty, members of the royal family and High Commissioners from the Commonwealth.
11:25AM - Cenotaph Service concludes.

The Remembrance Sunday service isn’t just limited to central London. There will be hundreds, if not thousands of services taking place across the UK on Sunday, 12th November to commemorate the fallen and those affected by war.
