Brentwood Festival Fans raise £12,000 for military charity

Brentwood Festival organisers have presented a cheque for £12,000 to military charity Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.   Donations were raised during the three-day music festival held last summer, as well as other associated music events held throughout 2016 at The White Horse public house in Brentwood.

Blesma are a national charity with their main office based in Chadwell Heath. They were chosen by the festival director, Jason Jopson, after he became aware of the support they provide to injured veterans.

Festival director, Jason Jopson, says: “Working with the Blesma fundraising team was a fantastic experience for us – their knowledge and enthusiasm was really inspirational.   We felt honoured and humbled to have their members attend the festival and share their personal stories with our audience.  Our festivalgoers should feel proud of themselves for making a strong contribution to the charity.”

Associate Director of Fundraising, Barbara Warner said: “Working with the team at the Brentwood Festival was a real pleasure.  We had a brilliant three days and having the opportunity to spread the word about the important work at Blesma was very much appreciated.  Our thanks to all the generous festival goers for contributing to a brilliant £12,000.”

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity for all limbless service men and women, their widows and dependants. It was formed in the years following the First World War and became a national charity in 1932.
