Team ‘Jiggles and Giggles’ to take on Nuclear Rush mud race for limbless veterans
14 May 2015
‘Jiggles and Giggles’ led by Plymouth-based Becky Ormrod, wife of triple amputee Mark, will be joining nearly 200 other runners on Saturday 16 May for this year’s Nuclear Rush, an extreme six kilometre off road assault course in the Essex countryside.
The team consist of Becky and her friends Ceclia and Adam Davis and David and Katie Rodwell. So far they have raised around £500 between them but still have money coming in from friends and family.
I saw the challenge advertised on Facebook and thought that it looked like a laugh! My friends and I are looking to have fun while raising money for an excellent cause.

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is one of the chosen charities for this year’s Nuclear Rush event, which takes place at the Secret Nuclear Bunker in Kelvedon Hatch, Essex.
For every runner taking part in the Blesma Wave at 12:30pm, the team at Nuclear Races will generously donate £5 to support Blesma’s vital work helping limbless veterans lead independent and fulfilling lives.
It is a cause especially close to Becky after her husband was blown up by an IED in Afghanistan in 2007 while serving as a Royal Marine in Helmand Province losing both legs and his right arm.
Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity for all limbless service men and women, their widows and dependants. It was formed in the years following the First World War and became a national charity in 1932.
