Chadwell Heath branch of NatWest collect for Blesma

24 November 2015

NatWest Chadwell Heath branch has been given a makeover as part of a £450m investment into upgrading branches across the UK. It has been fitted with new technology such as free wi-fi and upgraded cash deposit machines.

To celebrate the refurbishment, staff and customers at the branch have been collecting donations for Blesma, The Limbless Veterans whose offices are just up the road and whom NatWest provide banking services for.

The branch celebrated its transformation by hosting a launch event on Friday 20 November, inviting customers old and new to come into the branch. Amongst the refreshments and cupcakes, around £200 was raised for Blesma.

Branch manager James Bott says: I was really pleased that NatWest Chadwell Heath we able to partner our launch event following our makeover, with such a worthwhile yet understated charitable organisation such as Blesma.   I would like to thank everyone that attended for their support and I do hope you love our new branch as much as we do. For anyone that doesn't know what Blesma does to encourage and support veterans that are less able, I urge you to visit them on Facebook and Twitter.”

Associate Director of Fundraising for Blesma said: “We are delighted to be involved with the relaunch of our local NatWest branch and thank staff and customers for supporting Blesma.”

On Friday 04 December, the Ilford branch of NatWest will also be collecting donations for Blesma when they reopen their branch to the public following refurbishment.

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity for all limbless service men and women, their widows and dependants. It was formed in the years following the First World War and became a national charity in 1932.
