Bolton Wanderers FC raise thousands for Blesma
On Friday 26 September, Bolton Wanderers Football Club successfully launched their military green third shirts, and raised in excess of £6000 for the club’s National Charity Partner for 2014/15 - Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.
Annette Hall, Head of Fundraising, says “This is a fantastic partnership and we’re very proud to be working with Bolton Wanderers FC. The fans gave us a great reception at the weekend and we are looking forward to the rest of the season.”
The club's new Macron-manufactured military green third kit was officially unveiled on Thursday, with a limited number of shirts in special presentation boxes made available for purchase. They had the words ‘Lest We Forget’ embossed on the reverse with words from Laurence Binyon’s poem ‘For the Fallen’ featured inside the neck label.
Besides money from the sale of the limited edition shirts, there was a bucket collection and other match day activities planned in support of limbless veterans supported by the historic charity Blesma.
The shirts are available for season ticket holders (one per season ticket) to buy until Sunday 12 October.
Any remaining shirts will then go on general sale on Tuesday 14 October.
