A new railcard which will provide discounts for military veterans is set to launch later this year.
Serving members of the Armed Forces and their spouses may be eligible for an HM Forces Railcard, which offers up to 30 per cent off rail travel across England, Scotland and Wales.
The railcard costs £21 per year and includes savings on most first and standard fares, including off-peak travel cards in London. Cards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: "This railcard will help open up opportunities to veterans, whether through employment and retraining, or by strengthening links with friends and family. I believe that enabling former service personnel to travel more easily is the least we can do."
The new railcard is being launched on Armistice Day, November 11, 2020. Watch this space.
