This year Blesma looked to create an event which would bring our community together for Remembrance, despite the obstacles posed by Coronavirus.

Though fundraising was never the primary aim of the Remembrance 11k, incredibly, more than £20,000 has now been raised to support Blesma’s injured veterans. More than 200 participants took part, running, cycling or otherwise – to remember in every corner of the country, and even beyond, in France and the USA!

We have been completely overwhelmed by the positive response to this new blended style of event, and the incredible dedication and commitment of our Members and their families who have been not only running and cycling, but also raising awareness for Blesma by spreading the word online and recruiting more runners wherever they can.

The Remembrance 11k was also Blesma’s first livestreamed event, which not only allowed us to cut live to those taking part in the Remembrance 11k in various regions , but also featured some very special interviews with Members and their families, hosted by Member and Television Presenter Sean Rose. The stream managed to reach an incredible 9,000 people, sharing the work done by Blesma, in the words of Blesma Members themselves.

We would like to thank you all so much for taking part in the first Remembrance 11k, and for remembering Blesma all year round.
