'Resilience Breath' Course Open to all Members!

During this period of isolation, Blesma has teamed up with Emily Hightower, who many Members may know from Blesma’s Challenge Aspen Military Ops (CAMO) activity, to deliver a 6 week online ‘Resilience Breath Course’ so Members can connect, train and learn together how they can stay well on all levels from the safety and comfort of their own homes.

This programme will continue developing skills to enable you to read and regulate the state of your nervous system using breath, body mechanics, and visual field systems. The hope is that the result of this training will be an enhanced understanding of how to regulate your system to manage anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia, digestion and panic.

Emily Hightower (Intrinsic) has worked with front line high stress workers, who regularly see high trauma and she has been a trauma-informed breath coach for over 19 years. Emily is dedicated to empowering you to take control over your health, and to use life’s adversities, so acute during this COVID crisis, as a potential tool to help break through to new levels of self-mastery.

The course will start on Thursday 16th April at 1600, each session will consist of 40 minutes of teaching and a 20-minute Q&A which will take place using the online video platform, Zoom. All information regarding the set up will be announced once you have registered. You can even get the whole household involved as they can join you in sessions if you wish. Please note, this is a six-week course and we ask that Members attend all sessions.

For those of you who did not take part in the first breath workshop, or if you would like to try it out before committing to the full course, don’t worry! There will be two taster sessions before the course takes place:

1. Wednesday 08th April - Introductory session at 1600. Please email Kevin Long (details below) by 1300 on the 08th to register your place.
2. Tuesday 14th April - for those that haven’t taken part in the sessions during CAMO or the session on 26th March and want to start the six week course.  If you did take part in the first session, this will also be a great opportunity to re fresh your memory.

The closing date for applications will be Sunday 12 April, so please register your interest by emailing Kevin Long, bsoeastern@blesma.org
