Former Gurkha Pradip Rai, who is paralysed from the chest down, is taking on the virtual London Marathon in his everyday wheelchair this Sunday!
This will be his first attempt of the London Marathon, which is being completed virtually across the world this year. Prad and his fellow marathon participants will have 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds to complete the 26.2 miles.
Prad, 48, who served in the Royal Gurkha Rifles for nearly 21 years, said: “Blesma is truly close to my heart because it helped me in so many ways during
those initial difficult days post injury. “Through their photography trips I have been able to revive my old hobby, which is helping me to occupy and forget all about the secondary ailments caused by the spinal cord injury.
“Blesma is helping my fellow limbless veterans so I wanted to do something to give back to the charity. This is just my little endeavour.”
My Blesma Support Officer has been really helpful, and I know he will be there whenever I need him in the future
