Next month, representatives of MG Rover clubs around the UK will be hitting the road on an epic motoring event ‘Leg4leg’, in aid of Blesma.
Their mission? To pass the Leg4leg emblem (pictured) from club to club, starting from Land’s End and finishing at John O’Groats, and raising vital funds for injured veterans along the way.
Craig Meredith, who has organised the event along with Jess Stephens, said: "We had been talking about doing something to raise money for charity for a while and came up with the idea of the relay over a few beers one Friday night! Jess has a background with military charities and we both have friends & family who have served and continue to serve today, some of which have been badly injured. With that in mind, Blesma were an obvious choice for us when it came to deciding who should benefit.”
Craig added “With the help of MG Rover owners and clubs nationwide, we hope the event catches people’s imaginations and highlights just how important organisations like Blesma are. They do fantastic work and we feel honoured to be representing them in this way."
The emblem will be carried by different clubs in convoy on the planned route, starting at Land’s End on 2 October, to John O Groats ending on 5 October. They will be stopping at various places along the route and would urge all MG Rover & Blesma supporters to come and cheer them along!
