Team Hempstead - Quizzing for Blesma!
27th June 2015
We had a good turnout for our Blesma quiz which was held in the village of Hempstead, Kent. All the information I could find regarding Blesma was displayed on each of the tables, and many of those who attended had never heard of Blesma!
Sutton and Merton Blesma Branch Members generously donated some lovely raffle prizes. The Royal Engineers Museum Gillingham donated a family entry ticket valid for a full year from the date of issue. The Historic Dockyard at Chatham also donated a family ticket and Hever Castle donated a ticket for 2 with entry to the house and gardens. Our local MP, Mr Rehman Christi donated a bottle of House of Commons Wine.
Many people in the village donated raffle prizes. Their kindness was overwhelming.
As well as raising funds we raised the profile of Blesma which I think was even more satisfying.
Thanks to the help of my friends the evening was a great success.
The final outcome – after deducting the cost of the hall we raised £474.60 for Blesma. Not too shabby for a small village!
